Expert talk on “Game and Augmented Reality Application Development

On April 28th, 2025, the Department of AI&ML hosted an expert talk on “Game and Augmented Reality Application Development” by Mr. Ananthanagu U, Associate Director of Immersive Technologies. Tailored for the 6th-semester students, the session explored the evolution of games and AR, highlighting tools like Unity, Unreal Engine, ARCore, and ARKit.

Mr. Ananthanagu emphasized the growing role of immersive tech in Education, Healthcare, and Enterprise Systems. Students participated in a concept visualization activity, brainstorming AR/game ideas and storyboards, followed by a live AR demo showcasing marker-based and marker-less setups. He shared insights into career paths in AR/VR, the convergence of AI and AR, and trends like WebAR and spatial computing.

 Real-world examples helped students connect theory with practice. The session concluded with retrospective and curated resources for further learning, encouraging students to build prototypes and seek internships. Overall, the talk was highly engaging, blending technical depth with creativity, and left students inspired to explore immersive technologies further.
