Orientation Session for III Semester Students

Time: 09:30 AM to 12:30 PM
The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at New Horizon College of Engineering conducted an Orientation Session for III Semester students on 2nd September 2025, from 09:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Falconry Seminar Hall. The event welcomed students and introduced them to the department’s vision, academic roadmap, and opportunities. Dr. N. V. Uma Reddy, HoD – AIML, delivered a detailed presentation covering the college’s legacy, departmental goals, faculty profiles, academic guidelines, and growth prospects.
To commemorate NHCE’s Silver Jubilee, a quiz titled “Know Our College” was conducted by the hosts, engaging students with questions based on the presentation and institutional history. Dr. Uma Maheswaran then addressed the students, offering insights into artificial intelligence and dispelling common myths surrounding the field. The second half of the session featured interactive student-led activities such as Tune Sketch, Breathless (Story Building), Technical Quiz, Kings and Knights, and Speed Tag. These activities, coordinated by senior students, promoted teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving.
Winners and participants were awarded goodies as a token of appreciation. The session concluded with a closing address, marking a successful and engaging start to the academic journey of the incoming batch.
