Tech challenge -Into the Upside Down
The Innovation Club under the AIML department organized the Stranger Things–themed tech challenge “Into the Upside Down” on 26th November 2025. The event blended technology, puzzles, and immersive storytelling to create mystery-driven engineering tasks inspired by Hawkins. Teams were required to decode clues, experiment, and escape before the Gate closed.
The first round focused on solving the disappearance of Will Byers through logical reasoning and teamwork. Each solution drew participants deeper into the Upside Down, testing clarity and speed under pressure.
The second round simulated Eleven’s mind with memory tasks and patterned data flows. Students had to interpret subtle cues and adapt to shifting variables. This stage evaluated mental endurance and technical adaptability.
The final round placed teams at the Gate, demanding hands-on problem-solving to unlock escape routes. Cryptic mechanisms and technological clues created an immersive escape sequence. Time constraints pushed participants to act decisively with coordination and judgment.
Collectively, the three rounds offered a structured yet intense experience. The event was conducted offline at Tejas Seminar Hall and Idea Lab, NHCE. Judging criteria included accuracy, efficiency, teamwork, logic, and creativity.
Participants gained technical exposure, sharpened analytical skills, and strengthened collaboration. Overall, the event enhanced confidence and prepared students to tackle real-world challenges creatively.
