Industrial Visit-Xcel Corp (USA), BTM Layout, Bengaluru
The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning of New Horizon College of Engineering organized an industrial visit to Xcel Corp (USA) at BTM Layout, Bengaluru, on 26th November 2024. This visit offered students valuable insights into the functioning of a product-based IT company.
The session commenced with an overview of the company and its products, presented by the HR team. This was followed by an engaging discussion on industry trends and key skills for success, led by a Senior Technical Expert. Students received strategic guidance on career planning, including tips on selecting the right company and preparing for job opportunities.
The management team detailed internship and job roles while highlighting challenges in the job selection process. An interactive Q&A session allowed students to address their queries directly with the HR, technical, and management teams, creating a platform for meaningful engagement.
A major highlight was the scholarship test, through which four students earned live project internship opportunities at Xcel Corp’s Software Development Centre.
This visit enriched students’ understanding of the IT industry, enhanced their practical knowledge, and better prepared them for future career challenges, effectively bridging the gap between academic learning and industry expectations.
