The NIDHI PRAYAS Grant 5.0 has been sanctioned with funding of up to ₹10 lakhs for the innovative project titled “Monitoring the Apiculture System” for the academic year 2025–2026. This prestigious grant, awarded by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, supports early-stage innovations focused on developing prototypes with strong societal and commercial relevance.

The proposed system integrates cutting-edge technologies such as AI, IoT, and data analytics to enable real-time monitoring of bee colonies, aiming to enhance hive health, prevent colony collapse, and improve honey production through data-driven insights.

This funding marks a crucial step in transforming conventional apiculture practices into a technology-assisted, precision-based system. By leveraging this support, the project will develop a functional prototype capable of remotely tracking parameters such as temperature, humidity, hive activity, and environmental stressors. The grant reinforces DST’s commitment to sustainable innovation and recognizes the importance of pollinator preservation in food security and biodiversity. This initiative is expected to make a lasting impact in the agricultural and environmental sectors by promoting smart, scalable, and eco-friendly beekeeping solutions.
