The Smart India Hackathon

We are thrilled to extend our heartfelt congratulations to Suyash Ganesh Patil along with his team members Rajath U Shetty, Sarika Suman, Vaibhav Sorcar, Kiran Raj B IInd year BE students of Department of AI&ML and Shailesh J Kunder, IInd year BE student, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering for bagging the First prize of one lakh rupees in  the Smart India Hackathon held at Chandigarh on December 19 ,2023.The team was mentored by Dr. Prianka RR, Senior Assistant Professor, AI&ML and Ms. Shruthi Somashekar, Assistant Professor, AI&ML.

The Smart India Hackathon is a nationwide platform where students showcase their problem-solving prowess by crafting innovative solutions for real-world challenges. Among the problem statements, one intriguing challenge (PS Code: SIH1385) stands out, calling for the development of a software solution. This particular challenge focuses on creating a tool capable of translating resource materials and various texts from English to different Indian regional languages. It exemplifies the hackathon’s commitment to leveraging technology for social impact, particularly in breaking down language barriers and facilitating broader access to information across the nation.
