Technical Talk on Ethics and Bias in AI-Key Insights

On March 25th, 2025, the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning hosted a technical talk on “Ethics and Bias in AI” by Mr. Kiran M, Team Leader at Xfactr.AI, and client of Schneider Electric BGRT, Bangalore. The session was aimed at raising awareness about AI’s impact, ethical considerations, and the challenges posed by bias in AI systems. Participants discussed their practical knowledge of AI and shared AI-driven tools they use daily, highlighting AI’s influence across various industries.

Key topics covered included Machine Learning, Neural Networks, Generative AI, and AI Agents. The speaker introduced Anthropic’s Memory-Conditioned Processing (MCP), enhancing contextual memory and understanding. Practical insights were provided through demonstrations of AI tools like bolt.new, lovable.dev, and perplexity.ai, showcasing AI’s productivity enhancements.

The session emphasized algorithmic bias, AI explainability, and the importance of regulation and ethical guidelines. Engaging discussions ensued, with students actively participating and sharing perspectives on AI’s real-world applications. The talk simplified complex AI concepts and encouraged open discussions with the students, providing valuable insights into AI’s impact, ethical concerns, and emerging trends.
