A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between New Horizon College of Engineering (NHCE) and Altair Engineering India Pvt. Ltd. with the aim of fostering academic collaboration and expanding the use of Altair’s tools and technologies in areas such as AI, ML, and Data Science. This partnership is aimed to support and mentor startups, academic programs, and instructional initiatives involving Altair software.
Under the agreement, Altair committed to providing a suite of Altair SmartWorks products—including Knowledge Studio, Monarch, and Panopticon—for academic use across 30 systems within the NHCE campus for a period of 12 months, at no cost. These licenses were available to all students on campus and restricted to non-commercial academic applications.
Additionally, NHCE students were granted access to Academic Student Edition licenses for Altair HyperWorks on their personal devices for the duration of their undergraduate or postgraduate programs. Altair also facilitated various online learning and certification courses through Altair University, with no restrictions on student participation. NHCE was permitted to generate revenue by offering academic courses using these tools, while commercial usage remained strictly prohibited. Following the initial license term, NHCE could opt to purchase Altair products under academic pricing schemes, with potential discounts considered for continued educational use.
