The program was organised to the faculty to understand the importance of patenting an idea. Dr.N.V Uma Reddy, HoD- Department of AI & ML welcomed the participants by addressing the need of the seminar. Dr.Dinesk K Anvekar, Speaker who has a vast experience in patenting gave an awareness on how to apply for patent, procedures involved in filing, publishing and granting the event. Dr.Dinesh K Anvekar also discussed about some of his granted patents. He gave an overview of Anatomy of Indian patent application, Anatomy of complete specification or invention disclosure, Stages from filing to grant of patent, Complete lifecycle of granted patent. He briefed on common types of intellectual property. Around 100 faculty members attended the program. Faculty Members were motivated to file patents and they also learnt ‘How the ideas can be generated” and these simple ideas can be patented. Faculty members could gain knowledge on Patent granting process and importance of commercialization of patens.
