CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
Code Clash-Coding Contest

On 5 May 2026, the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI&ML), in collaboration with the Computer Society of India, successfully organised Code Clash, a coding contest for students of the 4th and 6th semesters. The event was conducted at IBM Lab 2 and witnessed the enthusiastic participation of around 40 students from the AIML department.
Designed to replicate a placement-level coding environment, the contest provided students with valuable exposure to real-world technical assessments. Participants competed through the HackerRank platform, offering an industry-standard coding and evaluation experience. The competition encouraged students to demonstrate their analytical thinking, coding efficiency, and problem-solving abilities while working under time constraints.
The 6th semester students tackled advanced programming challenges, including left rotation, truck tour, and castle on the grid. Meanwhile, the 4th semester students worked on problems related to linked lists, binary trees, and the popular Jessie and Cookies challenge. The contest enabled participants to assess their capabilities and gain a clearer understanding of their performance in a competitive programming environment.
Faculty coordinators and organisers ensured the smooth conduct of the event and motivated students throughout the competition. Based on their outstanding performances, six students were shortlisted to represent the AIML department in the final round against teams from Computer Science and Engineering, Data Science, and the Master of Computer Applications programme.
The event fostered a spirit of healthy competition while promoting collaboration, continuous learning, and technical growth among participants. Overall, Code Clash proved to be a significant initiative in strengthening the coding culture within the department and inspiring innovation, excellence, and professional development among aspiring engineers.
