We are proud to announce that Team Aaratrika, comprising Chitra M from the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI&ML) and Varsha Sri J from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), secured Second Place at Namma Suraksha 2.0, a prestigious national-level three-day hackathon hosted at Presidency University from 28 to 30 April 2026 in collaboration with the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Bengaluru.

The team worked on the real-world problem statement, “APK Fraud Detection and Attribution”, provided by the Karnataka Crime Branch – Criminal Investigation Department. Their project focused on developing practical cybersecurity solutions to address contemporary investigative and digital security challenges.

The competition followed a rigorous multi-stage selection process, beginning with registration and screening, followed by an intensive 24-hour hackathon. The event concluded with an expo-style project presentation, where participants showcased their solutions before a panel of external experts and industry professionals.

Demonstrating exceptional innovation, technical expertise, and problem-solving capabilities, Team Aaratrika emerged as one of only two winning teams in the CB-CID problem domain. Their achievement reflects a strong commitment to excellence, teamwork, and the application of technology to solve real-world problems.

This accomplishment stands as a testament to the students’ dedication, collaborative spirit, and passion for creating meaningful societal impact through innovation. Their success serves as an inspiration to fellow students and highlights the growing culture of research, creativity, and technological advancement.
